Things I want to talk about:
- What I’m doing.
- What my goals are with this blog.
- Where I currently stand with respect to my personal goals.
What I’m doing
I’m still currently working out, but in the meantime, I’ve been working out at home to avoid this month’s “new year, new me” rush. It still amazes me when I see fresh new faces at the gym, only for them to give up in 2-6 weeks. No wonder these gyms make so much money! My advice to people looking to start working out; WRITE DOWN YOUR GOALS. From my experience, success in fitness or weight loss depends on what YOU can do consistently, while doing it within your means! Evaluate what you want in the long run, and don’t try to do everything at once. Work on what you can at the gym, one day at a time. For example, if you want to lose weight and gain muscle, be a marathon runner and be an elite athlete, you’d have to start from the bottom. If you’re a regular person like me, YOU HAVE TO START FROM SQUARE ONE, and it’s okay! It’s impossible to start a new year, with that kind of weight on your shoulders. Many new gym goer’s make this mistake, being optimistic on their first day, only to suffer burnout in the next few weeks.
Do it one at a time, while keeping a log, be it a blog, journal, spreadsheet, whatever. Build your foundation first. If you want to lose weight and gain muscle, start with one, then end with the other. Despite what anyone hears or tells you, there’s a greater chance of success when you focus on one area first. This year, this is what I’m also concentrating on. I’m using this mindset to get results the way I know how, with no burnout.
What my goals are with this blog.
I plan on simplifying everything on this page. After carefully looking at things, I find that I may have done too much for me to handle. In the coming weeks, all of you will be able to navigate through a better blog. I also want to keep a schedule in posting once or twice per week. Currently, finding time to post once per day is far too time consuming, with my wedding coming up and all. Everytime I write, I feel a sudden sense of relief and I will try to post more often. I want to help myself and anybody else get to that desired fitness goal.
Where I currently stand with respect to my personal goals
I haven’t given up, and my deadline to get in shape is June, to be on time for my tux fitting. I’ve been much more active lately and my clothes are fitting looser so that’s a plus. I can’t wait to get back into the clothes I wore during my slimmer days. I’m still taking the same approach, take it day by day. There’s no secret to what I’m doing. Just some good old dedication and hard work.
